I bought the Scirocco 3000 to replace a Flymo EV750 Gardenvac which gave 11 faultless years service until the motor went 2 weeks ago. I've just put the new one particular together and taken it out into the garden to try it out and I'm pretty impressed with the power, each sucking and blowing is Quite impressive, the blades of grass around the nozzle are bent towards it with the force of the power
Two factors then again prevent it from receiving 5 stars and have left me questioning what the designers were thinking of at the production meeting :-
1) There is no point in having a wheel on the finish - unless you use it in a similar motion to a lawn mower it is pointless. I personally use a side to side sweeping motion and it would have helped if it had 360 degree movement but it doesn't, it really is fixed for forward and backward movement only. Then again, with the shoulder strap on, you can get the weight balanced so the wheel doesn't extremely come into play at all.
2) The front section of the tube comes telescoped back into the body...brilliant I believed, it's gonna make storage in the shed a lot less complicated but no, once you have locked it out to full extension, that's it, it really is a 1 time deal, you are unable to ever retract it - WHY ?!
I would recommend this item, notwithstanding the above, the shear power alone is worth it.
My initial such machine [I've continually applied the old fashioned technique of garden rake]. Energy is enough to suck up leaves but not smaller stones so functions well on gravelled places. The bag is straightforward to take off for emptying. Self assembly was also simple. Wish I'd bought one particular years ago.
